Metro

DC's Metrorail system can be a great way to get around the city without renting a car or paying for a taxi. Metro consists of 6 lines which service key locations in Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland.

Amtrak

Many Amtrak lines travel through Washington DC's Union Station. Routes include service up and down the east coast, and into the midwest. DC is one of the terminus stops on the high speed Acela route which includes stops in Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston.

VRE

Virginia Railway Express, provides commuter rail service from Washington DC to locations in Northern Virginia. The system's two lines start at DC's Union Station, and end in Manassas, VA and Fredericksburg, VA.

MARC

Maryland Area Regional Commuter is a commuter rail system which has three lines running from Washington DC into locations in Maryland. Destinations include one of the three DC area airports, Baltimore Washington International Airport. The Brunswick line also include destinations in West Virginia.
