Smithsonian is a Metro station, located in South West Washington DC, is serviced by Metro's Orange Line, Silver Line, and Blue Line is located adjacent to the National Mall, providing easy access to many of Washington DC's most famous attractions, including the US Capitol Building, the Washington Monument, many of the Smithsonian Institution's museums, the National World War II Memorial, and much more. Exiting the station by it's National Mall exit provides breathtaking views of the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument.

The station also provides a relatively short walk to the Tidal Basin, home to thousands of cherry blossoms each spring (and the National Cherry Blossom Festival), and the Jefferson Memorial.

Along with Foggy Bottom Station, the Smithsonian Station, at about a mile, is also one of the closest stations to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
