Signs, like the one shown here, are found throughout each station, providing information about a particular station and platform. This example indicates that the station services orange line trains headed toward New Carrollton. Stations which will be visited are listed in sequential order, and colored dots indicate that Rosslyn is the first transfer point to the Blue line, Metro Center is a transfer point to the Red line, and L’Enfant Plaza is a transfer point for the Green and Yellow lines.

Platforms which service multiple lines will indicate both on the same sign, with stations on each lines distinguished by the colored stripe along the left side of the station list.
